The Organisation for Quality and Innovation Strategies

The Organisation for Quality and Innovation Strategies (Qualies) started in Salalah, south of Oman, in 2001. From the outset, Qualies embraced the vision that Oman and the Middle East needed a creative and innovative free-standing organisation capable of addressing the spectrum of issues related to research, human resource management, technology, and enterprise development, for the purpose of generating new opportunities, prosperity, and a sustainable society.

In its early years, Qualies focused primarily on support of research and education efforts within local communities. In 2012, however, a reorganisation was initiated. Since then, Qualies has teamed up with international partners to establish a platform for cross-border learning and collaboration, promoting inclusion, supporting innovation and developing a series of significant project agendas capable of generating value and supporting sustainability.

The following activities stand at the core of Qualies present mission:

Reforestation/Plantations

Qualies is the sole certified distributor of the Groasis water-saving technology in Oman, and with distribution rights in some other countries as well. Contact the secretariat for further information.

Establishing Pioneering Biofuels Production

Qualies collaborates closely with HutanBio, a science based spinoff from Cambridge University on the establishment of a unique algae based biofuel production unit in Oman. Contact the secretariat for further information.
